The torque required is immense. So, we built a clutch holder tool to keep our clutches securely fastened in a vice while we wrench them loose. <p>This belt removal tool is simple, yet so effective. It hooks right into the roller opening on your clutch, then the bolt pushes the two halves apart. This allows for easy belt removal without pulling either clutch. Not only does it allow for easy belt removal, but it also makes installing a new belt extremely simple. This fits nicely with your stock tool kit, and uses the factory spark plug wrench. If you happen to blow a belt on the trail, chances are you have belt debris stuck in your clutch, and that can be extremely hard to remove. Since this tool holds the secondary open, it makes cleaning out belt debris much easier. Installing or adjusting primary weights without pulling your clutch can also be a pain since you have to remove the belt. <p>SLP clutch kits have been designed and tested to get the most consistent performance out of your Polaris UTV. We have been working with centrifugal clutches for over 40 years, and know how to tune them to transfer your horsepower to the ground. In most cases, optimizing the clutch setup is the best performance gain for the dollar spent. Through our testing we have found two distinctly different clutch setups depending on what type of terrain that you drive on.</p><p><strong>SLP Trail Clutch Kit:</strong> These clutch kits are designed for semi-hard surface trails with the occasional run in muddy or sandy conditions. They provide improved engagement mannerism, throttle response with better top-end power and consistency over a broad range of elevations and conditions.</p><p><strong>SLP High Load Clutch Kit (Sand, Mud or Large Tire):</strong> These clutch kits are for high load environments such as sand, mud or when 1" to 2" larger tires have been added. When exposed to these high load conditions, the stock clutching performs poorly, leaving the vehicle with poor throttle response and loss of RPM. These clutch kits provide improved engagement mannerism, throttle response with better top-end power and consistency over a broad range of elevations and conditions. When running exclusively on the sands, see our Sand Specific Clutch Kits below. Note: If performance modifications, larger tires (+3" or larger) or weight has been added or removed from your UTV, please let us know so we can tailor your clutch kit accordingly.</p><p><strong>Sand Specific Clutch Kits:</strong> These sand specific clutch kits are tailored specifically to running the sands. The springs that we use in these kits provide a much more responsive feel and application of power when in the high load conditions on the dunes. The helixes these kits use are non-EBS versions, which reduce engine braking and allow the unit to freewheel when off of the throttle. This helps keep the nose up when jumping, as well as providing a great on and off throttle feel as you are playing on the dunes. These kits are very resilient to RPM loss, keeping the engine running at its peak horsepower level whether you are on the flat or climbing that wicked steep dune.</p><p></p>

<p>The 900 Ranger XP in this model year range has a well known abrupt engagement of the clutch. Slow speed crawling is awkward.</p><div>We have not had a test vehicle for extensive time to do thorough testing with different tires and terrains to develop any complete clutch kit. We have not tested larger tires and will not make assumptions or guesses at clutch calibration for that. However, we have experimented with the totally stock vehicle enough to know the stock primary spring is very aggressive. This simple primary spring change makes it a much smoother, and a more positive engagement of the belt each time you move.</p><p>The initial engagement load rate of the spring is lower with a similar to stock fully compressed load pressure. Test riders have all commented very positive on how much more smooth at low speeds when on and off the throttle.</p><p>At some point we hope to do more testing of this vehicle with different tires and situations, but for now, the Dalton Black/Pink primary spring very noticeable improvement on this application for a very inexpensive price.</p>

There are six rollers sealed in the movable sheave housing. Internal rollers provide smooth engagement with effective damping, eliminating the harsh engagement of flyweight engaged CTS. <br />The sealed movable keeps the dirt and dust away from the rollers, making it a long-life primary that will perform for miles and years. <br /><strong></strong></p><p><strong>The New Tied Secondary Clutch</strong></p><p>The New Duraclutch R-Series system has a TEAM Tied Secondary with premium rollers. The movable and fixed sheaves are tied through the hub spider.<br />The movable sheave moves axially and does not rotate during upshift or downshift eliminating scrubbing across the sheaves reducing operating friction. The torque is transmitted equally in both sheaves providing excellent torque sensing and quick response to road-load.<br />This is unlike other secondary's which transmit torque primarily through the fixed sheave.</p>

<p>This optional secondary spring is primarily used as an addition to the DUV P9XP clutch kit for mud use with the extra large 29.5" and larger tires. It can also be used with 28" tires if they are the extreme mud competition tires and primary use is mud, or with other 28" if use is for primarily sand. For most other typical trail applications with Trail/Mud tires and occasional mud, the regular clutch kit is most efficient and this spring is not used.</p><p>Instructions are included in the "set up guide" of the regular clutch kit for these applications when adding this spring.</p><p>Note: This product also requires the DUV P9XP</p>

<ul><li>OEM rollers have small locking tabs molded into them which wear away quickly and allow the roller to fall off. This is not a problem as the helix holds the roller in place, but makes assembling the clutch harder. Our rollers have a machined locking ridge that will outlast the OEM locking tabs. The slide blocks in the stock secondary clutch create friction and do not shift smoothly. This clutch conversion allows you to switch from the slide block clutch to the TEAM Tied roller clutch and get all of the benefits that come with it. This is a perfect replacement for a worn out stock clutch.
